Insulin Potentiation Therapy

What is insulin potentiation therapy?

Patients suffering from cancer have to go through extensive

chemotherapy sessions which, although, a very efficient treatment modality for

cancer, is, however, very tough on the patient due to its numerous side

effects. Medical experts are always looking for ways to somehow get rid of the

side effects faced during chemotherapy or any alternative option that is as

efficient as chemo.

Insulin potentiation therapy or IPT is an experiment in the

same direction for the same purpose. It has been developed in the early 1930s

by a Mexican doctor to work as an alternative cancer-treating therapy that

ended up helping manage the symptoms of chemotherapy in the patients undergoing

this ordeal. It has been reported to manage the adverse chemo effects without

ever compromising the effectiveness of chemotherapy.

How does it work?

It has been argued time and again that IPT is an ideal

adjunct to conventional therapy in the case of chronic disease. Insulin is said

to make the cell membranes more permeable and the cancer cells naturally have

more insulin receptors on their surface as compared to regular cells. When,

during this therapy, insulin is released in the bloodstream in excess, the

activation of insulin receptors on the cancer cell surface makes it very

convenient for the drugs to target, theoretically. Hence, IPT makes the

chemotherapy more efficient and the results more pronounced. This in turn means

more effective results with less aggressive chemotherapy, leading to fewer

adverse effects.

People choose to opt for IPT as they want an

alternative treatment to chemotherapy due to its inconvenient and painful side

effects. If you want to explore this treatment modality any further give us a call and we
